Writing
I write for adults: as consumers, customers and business audiences. I aim to make complicated subjects easier to understand, more interesting to read and more relevant to your audience. This means that your communications are more likely to be effective. To do this requires business and marketing experience and expertise over and above the ability to write. Hence, if you use my services, it is probably for something relatively important and serious. You may need help with the thinking behind the words, in which case I can help you develop a communications strategy. Or the subject-matter may be complex in business or technical terms - and will need to be made intelligible to an audience of non-experts. It may also be that your audience consists of intelligent, discerning adults: people who favour well-written and well-constructed English. That's where I come in. My experience includes most types of marketing and business communication. The main areas I have worked in are: advertising; brochures, booklets and leaflets; business documents, reports and presentations; direct marketing, direct mail, and direct response; humorous business and marketing articles; promotional materials of every kind; newsletters; radio programmes and advertising; websites, web advertising and e-shots. I can also lead the definition of communications strategies, creative briefs and platform copy for use by your staff and creative agencies. As a former agency planner and management consultant, I understand the bigger picture. If you prefer to judge for yourself, you'll find links to a few random examples of my work in the column to the right. And if all this seems just a bit too serious, I have included some humorous and music writing as well. |
